Created originally as the Kingman Army Airfield during WWII, the base served as one of the aerial gunnery training sites for bomber crews. Some 35,000 personnel passed through the facility. While not the first airport established in Kingman, the now Kingman Municipal Airport has played a key role in the areas rich aviation history and its future.
The management team and the City of Kingman welcome you to come enjoy a day at the airport and learn more about what it is all about.
EAA Chapter 765 is Kingman's own contingent of the Experimental Aircraft Association headquartered in Oshkosh, WI. EAA 765 is a group of aviation enthusiasts, pilots, aircraft owners, and amateur aircraft builders who serve to support and promote general aviation in the community. The chapter is a 501c3 non-profit organization that hosts recreational and educational activities and events. Last year EAA 765 hosted the popular tour stop for the WWII B-17 "Aluminum Overcast" and each year conducts the Young Eagles flight rallies .
Details about the AirFest are quickly being finalized and updates will continue up to event time. We anticipate plenty of aircraft flying activity throughout the day, fly-in traffic from around our region, static aircraft displays, as well as participation from our local agencies, clubs and businesses. Some airplane rides will be available at an additional cost. Click on the Highlights button to see more about what we should have to see and do.
